Nokia Booklet 3G - a netbook PC with 10-inch screen and 12-hour battery life / 24.08.2009 07:02

Nokia Booklet 3G
When Asus introduced the first netbook Eee PC two years ago, the company started a trend that is rocking the world's largest electronics companies. At the time, few people believed that Nokia, who exited PC business about 20 years ago, would return to the highly-competitive, low-margin business. Nonetheless, Nokia has made a move and returned to PC business by introducing a full-featured, sleek netbook PC.

The Nokia Booklet 3G is a small, elegant, slim netbook PC. Nokia has designed it with not only for indvidual users but also for corporate customers. The netbook comes with secure email feature. Nokia has managed to squeeze up to 12 hours of battery life from the Booklet 3G netbook. That's impressive. The two centimeter thin chassis is made of aluminum. The unit weighs 1.25 kilograms.

In addition to Windows software, Nokia has included Ovi applications into the laptop. For instance, even after reviewing the Ovi Maps and Ovi Files services, we have continued using them and found the applications remarkably useful. Yet, we really hope that Nokia would finally fix (or completely scrap) the dreaded PC Suite application that has caused nerve-wrecking moments and hair-loss for many innocent PC users across the world.

The main features of the Nokia Booklet 3G are as follows: 10-inch screen, 3G HSPA mobile data network connection, Wi-Fi, built-in GPS, Bluetooth, and an SD memory card reader. The netbook can be hooked up to an HDTV via HDMI port. There's a webcam on the front for video calls. Since the Nokia Booklet 3G is powered by Windows software, there is a hard drive inside the unit as well.
